CVF is honored with the Police Community Leader Award

Centre Victoria pour femmes is proud to have received the Police Community Leader Award, in recognition of the CVFs collaboration and participation in the Sexual Assault Review Committee.

This committee is composed of members from the Centre Victoria pour femmes, Looking Ahead to Build the Spirit of Our Women – Learning to Live Free From Violence Project (N’Swakamok Native Friendship Centre/Greater Sudbury Police Service), Sudbury & Area Victim Services, Violence Intervention and Prevention Program (Health Sciences North / Horizon Santé-Nord), and YWCA Sudbury Genevra House.

The committee’s mandate is to review sexual assault cases deemed unfounded, with the aim of improving police interventions with victims by providing a gendered analysis and addressing the specific nature of violence against women.
