Board of Directors
Centre Victoria pour femmes wishes to acknowledge the contributions of the members of the Board of Directors. We are proud of the diligence, the regularity of attendance and the commitment of our volunteer members. In addition to their personal and professional obligations, members of the board voluntarily attend monthly meetings, sit on committees and represent us within the community if necessary. It is a pleasure to work with you so that, together, we can fully realize the vision and achieve the mandate of Centre Victoria pour femmes.

Alexie Beaulieu
Treasurer
I am a Chartered Professional Accountant working at le Conseil scolaire du Grand Nord. I am proud to be Francophone and to have the opportunity to work in French. I greatly value time with my family, friends and community. I was president of a charity at Laurentian University and this experience made me realize the importance of helping people in order to make a positive difference in their daily lives. I am happy to sit on the CVF Board of Directors to help Francophone women in Northern Ontario.

Carole Brouillard Landry
Présidente
I am pleased to sit on CVF’s Board of Directors! I recognize the importance of promoting policies and programs that provide holistic support to women who are victims of violence, while raising public awareness of the issues related to this cause. As I love getting involved in my community, I am even more delighted that it is in French and for a cause that is close to my heart. I am currently the provincial leader in cultural animation and identity building at the Centre franco de ressources pédagogiques. Having been the executive director for the Conseil scolaire Grand Nord, I have the tools necessary to find new initiatives and effective strategies to advance projects, particularly those that can benefit women in our community. I intend to advance CVF’s projects to make it shine. My goal is to support women by giving them the support and tools they need so that they can flourish with confidence and assurance. I am committed to working towards a world where every woman can live without fear and with dignity. Together, we can make a difference! “Every single time that you help somebody stand up, you are helping humanity rise.” Dr. Steve Maraboli

Chantal Guilmette
Outgoing President
I am a chartered professional accountant. I love my job, but I also enjoy spending time with my family, whom I adore. I believe it is important to contribute to our community and what better way to do so than in our maternal language and with a francophone group. I am pleased to be back on the CVF’s Board of Directors after a year-long absence, because I believe in the Centre’s mandate and I appreciate being able to support the work done by the Centre. I am especially proud when I go to bed late at night and know that I have been able to help someone in need and to put a smile on her face.

I am a Francophone from Northern Ontario – born in Chapleau, raised in Elliot Lake and studying in Sudbury. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Biology with a minor in Psychology from Laurentian University. Currently, I am a medical student at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine. I plan to practice rural emergency medicine, integrating women’s health and wellness as well as mental health and addictions into my practice. I am also passionate about government affairs and advocacy. I myself have accessed le Centre Victoria pour femmes’ services in the past, from the age of 14 to 17. It is a remarkable organization. As a future physician who recognizes the epidemic of mental health issues and especially the unique challenges faced by women, I am so grateful to have had access to this resource that I will be able to recommend to my patients in the future. I am amazed by all the work that le Centre Victoria pour femmes does and it is an honour to be a part of it.

I am a proud French-speaking native and resident of Northern Ontario. I am also a passionate, committed, empathetic, honest and competent person. I have retired from the field of education, more specifically from teaching in a francophone minority community. Furthermore, I have experience on a variety of levels, including as a member of executive committees and of boards of directors, and as vice-president and president of teacher associations at the local, provincial and federal levels. I believe I have proven my commitment and demonstrated my interest in unionism and the teaching profession. Throughout my journey, I have been in contact with remarkable people of all ages. I hope to contribute to my francophone community by getting involved with the CVF, working towards the advancement of services accessible to French-speaking women and the work of the Centre.

Maïmouna Sangaré
Secretary
Serving on the board of directors of Centre Victoria pour femmes is a valuable opportunity to contribute to a cause that is close to my heart. It inspires me with this statement by Joéliah who said: “Everything we sow comes back to us multiplied one day or another and builds or destroys us according to the love we put into it.” I am an economic development officer at the Société Économique de l’Ontario (Sudbury office), where I support Francophone entrepreneurs in achieving their ambitions to create and grow their businesses. With a bachelor’s degree in business law and 12 years of experience as a corporate lawyer, I excel in governance, risk management and legal compliance. Currently pursuing certification in Human Resources Management at Collège Boréal, I put my expertise and commitment to the service of the Centre Victoria pour femmes’ mission. The development of Ontario’s Francophone community, and more specifically that of the Sudbury Francophone community, is the central pillar of my commitment. I am therefore determined to work actively for the development of services dedicated to Francophone women in Northern Ontario and the promotion of their rights, while firmly supporting the essential mission of Centre Victoria pour femmes at the heart of our community.
