24/7 Fem'aide 1-877-336-2433

You may have noticed that CVF has not yet announced an event for March 8th…

Since 1995, Centre Victoria pour femmes (CVF) has organized an event around International Women’s Day on or around March 8. Outings, evenings, artists, and performances… After 30 years of celebrations, this year we have chosen instead to support the various activities organized by other organizations in our communities.

Since 2021, CVF has continued to receive requests for feminist t-shirts… and finally, we drew inspiration from this to offer you Valeurs en couleurs, a creative contest highlighting feminism with a francophone flair.

Contest Description

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Centre Victoria pour femmes is proud to launch Valeurs en couleur, a creative contest highlighting feminism with a francophone flair.

We invite our members, friends, and communities to submit a sweater design that showcases feminism as well as the values of the Centre Victoria pour femmes.

CVF is calling for design submissions that allow everyone to proudly identify as feminists and allies, to wear their courage, and to show solidarity by bringing these values to life in colour.

Categories

Designs must fit into one of the following categories, based on the one the creators identify with the most:

Youth

This category encourages participation from youth aged 24 and under and is open to young creators and students from secondary and elementary schools who live in the Algoma or Greater Sudbury regions. Prevention is at the heart of our work and begins at a young age. Individual and group submissions are accepted.

Survivors

This category amplifies the voices of survivors and victims of gender-based violence who live or work in the Algoma or Greater Sudbury regions. Individual and group submissions are accepted.

Community

This category promotes community support. Community members who support our cause are invited to show their solidarity and support. This category is open to all community members who live or work in the Algoma or Greater Sudbury regions, including professionals from various fields (e.g., education, health, social services). Individual and group submissions are accepted.

Selected designs

One design will be selected for each category. The creators of the selected designs will receive the very first sweater featuring their original designs, free. The creators will also be invited to model their sweater to help promote the sale of the designs.

CVF will publish an announcement presenting a short description of the selected designs and the creators as part of this contest on its website, CVF social media platforms, and in local media. The creators agree to the publication of their names, photos, and a short description explaining why their designs were selected for the contest.

The sweater will later be available for purchase through the CVF website as part of a fundraiser for the Centre Victoria pour femmes. Funds raised will allow us to support women survivors of gender-based violence in situations of need, including financial assistance for groceries and essential items.

Please note
For the Survivors category, an agreement will be established prior to any publication to ensure anonymity, if needed.

Creators retain the rights to their designs while authorizing the Centre Victoria pour femmes to use them for promotional purposes related to the contest.
