Centre Victoria pour femmes unveils its 25th anniversary activities

On October 1st, in recognition of Women’s History Month, CVF is proud to unveil its programming to mark 25 years of service in 2020.
CVF is offering a range of activities for its communities, aimed at bringing people together to celebrate women’s achievements while creating opportunities for awareness, education, and the prevention of violence.
For the first time in its history, CVF is launching a fundraiser, inviting you to treat yourself or a special woman in your life—authentic, capable, confident, strong, unique—while also making a generous gesture toward us. An original artwork by Monique Legault, created especially for CVF, is currently for sale. Funds raised will help support the needs of Francophone women and improve their access to growth and well-being activities beyond the Centre’s current capacity.
In March 2020, to mark International Women’s Day, Centre Victoria pour femmes will present The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler, translated by Louise Marleau, under the artistic direction of Miriam Cusson. We invite the community to come and see the hundred Francophone women from Sudbury who will take the stage.
Throughout the year and across its communities, CVF will also present two additional projects—one with Franco-Ontarian Métis mural artist Mique Michelle, and another with Quebec artist Nathalie Simard, featuring storytelling and music. Mique and Nathalie will tour the communities of Sudbury, Elliot Lake, Sault Ste. Marie, and Wawa.
CVF will conclude its 25th anniversary during its Annual General Meeting in October 2020. This occasion will highlight the Centre’s history and announce the 2020 recipient of the #JeMérite scholarship.
